World Book Day

On Thursday 2ndMarch we Celebrated the 20th Anniversary of World Book Day.

As part of our celebrations we all came to school dressed as our favourite book character.  The children took part in a parade to show off their fantastic outfits - and gave the judges the difficult task of choosing a winner from each class.

Well done to the Class Winners - Little Bo Peep (Evie-Mae in Class 1), Angelica from ‘Rug Rats’ (Leah in Class 2), The Queen of Hearts (Armani in Class 3), Gangster Granny (Billie Jo in Class 4) and Katniss from ‘The Hunger Games’ (Katie in Class 5).  Their prize was to choose a book from the Book Fair.

During the day, the children enjoyed a range of reading and book related activities linked to one of the special World Book Day books -

Class 1 read ‘Everyone Loves Underpants’ and created crazy underpants!

Class 2 read ‘Princess Mirror- Bella’ and imagined what would happen if their book character reflections came to life!

Class 3 read ‘Horrid Henry’ and created new characters to join the story.

Class 4 read ‘Butterfly Beach and described themselves in the style of Jacqueline Wilson.

Class 5 read ‘Blob’ and designed a humorous blurb for the book.

Well Done and Thank You Everyone for Making World Book Day a Great Success.

We created some super displays throughout school to celebrate our work...
