  Calling all Adventurers, Explorers and Diamonds!

  Come and have a look at our brand new EYFS provision - open event 3.30-4.30pm Wednesday 30th November and Thursday 1st December.

  We have places in our 2 year old room and pre-school Nursery....and applications are open for Reception admissions for September 2023.

  Come and meet the team, view the provision and be part of a very special journey!

• Music Mark School

  I just love opening emails that tell us that we have been recognised as a 'Music Mark School' by Sunderland Music Hub. I'd like to think that it's because they've heard me play the recorder with Year 5 and 6.......but it's probably because, when we sing, they can hear us across the land! Well done everyone and special thanks to Laura, our fabulous singing teacher, David, our ukulele tutor and Ashleigh, our EYFS Music Specialist!

   

  

• Coalfields Area Committee - Award Granted

  Huge thank you to the Coalfields Area Committee who awarded us a grant of over £2000 we bought our Early Years some new construction resources so that they could follow their interest of 'building a new school' - move over Robertson's, there are some new construction workers coming through!

  A huge thank you to all of our school community who have helped us raise £260.60 for the poor families in Ukraine. This money will be sent to the Emergency Disasters Committee to fund vital supplies for adults and children.

   

• Sponsor a Sunflower Day

  Today, Friday 18th March, all pupils and staff at Hetton Primary School are working together to raise money for the children and families in Ukraine.

  We have sold over 1100 raffle tickets and all money from the raffle, plus donations from our amazing community today, will all go to the Emergency Disasters Committee.

  Watch out for our sea of Sunflowers around school.

• CPR Super Heroes

  What a great sight today - 141 CPR superheroes learning basic life saving skills including spotting the danger signs, giving CPR and the recovery position. In an emergency, Team Hetton would keep cool heads and know exactly what to do! Big thank you to Mark from Facility & Sports Club Development for giving up his time, free of charge, to teach us the life-saving skills!

  We would really appreciate it if more parents and carers could join the School Comms Crew! We will shortly be reducing paper letters in favour of our electronic system - it's good to be green!
