Welcome by Mrs Wren
As Chair of the Governing Body of Hetton Primary School, I welcome you to the Governors section of our website.
Governors work with the school leadership team to ensure that all children have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
The Governing Body consists of Headteacher, Parent Governors, School Governor, Co-opted Governors and a Local Authority Governor.
As governors we
- Set high standards for both staff and children.
- Ensure children and staff are kept safe
- Ensure financial solvency by efficient use and management of resources.
- Monitor the curriculum
- Act as a critical friend
The full governing body meet every half term, working on school business. There are various small committees who have specific responsibilities such as finance and premises, personnel, curriculum and pupil discipline.
