"Santa Clause is coming to... Hetton Primary"

We loved having Santa visiting us today in school. It was so magical. We even got to sing one of our Christmas Carols with him and it's official, all of Ruby Class are on the nice list. Yey! To celebrate we put on our best clothes and had a Christmas party.

Wednesday 15th December

A special guest dropped in to see us this morning all the way from Santa's workshop! Our elf Elfie arrived with gifts from Papa Elf and a note from Santa. HE'S VISITING TOMORROW!!

We also had a great afternoon singing along with the Sunderland festive big sing. We spotted our favourite music teacher Laura and loved singing along to the carols with her and the festive band.

Tuesday 14th December

Christmas has come early in Ruby Class.

We've got a fun packed week full of lots of exciting and festive activities.

Today we sang our Christmas carols around the Christmas tree. It was lovely to get to perform to so many of our parents. We loved it and hope you did too.

Friday 10th December

Today was Christmas jumper day! We all came to school dressed in our festive clothing and took part in our annual Santa dash around the yard.

Thursday 2nd December

This afternoon we went to AAA sports to do some gymnastics and trampolining. We've had a fantastic time. Thank you to all the staff at AAA sports for having us.

Friday 27th November

This afternoon we decorated our classroom for Christmas. It was so much fun and it has got us all really excited for Santa coming! We also started to learn the Christmas songs for our carol service. Miss Routledge was so impressed with our singing voices.

Friday 19th November

This week is Anti-Bullying week. Throughout the week we have completed various activities around Anti-Bullying. To show our support we have also been wearing odd socks everyday. There's been some fantastic combinations of socks, lots of bright and colourful patterns, some of us in Ruby class have even been wearing Christmas socks!

Friday 19th November

Today we supported Children in Need by coming into school in non-uniform. Thank you to all who donated.

The children wanted to take a funny photo for the occasion.

Tuesday 16th November

Today in P.E we got out the apparatus. We completed a variety of movements focusing on keeping our head up and still, our tummy tight and back straight and focusing our attention to one fixed spot to help us with our balance.

Monday 1st November

Our new focus text in English is 'Little Red Reading Hood'

Over the holidays Miss Routledge set Ruby Class a challenge to send in a picture of them reading their favourite book in their favourite place. The children's images were fab and they all spoke about how much they enjoyed reading in their special place.

We had a challenge today in English to find some special reading spots around school that we could read in when we are here. The children were really creative and found some great reading spots, we had great fun.

Friday 22nd October

Happy half term & Happy Halloween!

We loved reading a story in the pumpkin patch today, thank you for inviting us along Diamond Class.

Monday 18th October

This year we have signed up to the Cauliflower Christmas Project. The project will print our children's artwork onto Christmas cards, mugs, wrapping paper and gift tags that parents can buy.

Today we designed our cards. Although it's only October we did have a lot of fun making snowmen cards while singing along to Christmas songs.

Tuesday 19th October

We have loved taking part in Walkwise activities for the last two weeks. We have learnt lots about the Green Cross Code and Road Safety.

For one of the activities we took part in a competition to see who could design the best Road Safety t-shirt. Congratulations to the following children for winning the competition.
