Ruby Class
Monday 17th May 2021
Last week we had a special visitor from Durham Cricket Club come into school and teach us some cricket skills. We loved playing the games and some of us are going to join up to our local cricket club because of the visit.
Today in P.E we went through each of the skills again and played some of the games. It has been lots of fun.
Friday 14th May 2021
This week has been Mental Health Awareness week. We have been learning lots about why it's so important that we are kind to one another and completing some activities based around this.
On Tuesday we wrote kind notes and drew pictures for our friends. Each child had their own special envelope which we left open for people to add in their messages throughout the day. Each day since we have shared a few of the notes/ pictures. It has been lovely to hear Ruby Class' kind and caring words for one another.
Friday 30th April 2021
Today we took part in White Rose Hub's Captain Tom 100 challenge in honour of Sir Tom Moore's birthday.
Our challenge was to go outside and collect 100 natural items from around our school area.
We then had to decide how best to present them. We chose to display our items in a tens frame.
The challenge was a lot of fun and we also spotted some minibeasts while we were out!

On Friday we finished off our sentence stacking in English. We have been writing the story Little Red Reading Hood and have loved it. What do you think of our super sentences?

Did someone say tie dye?
We had so much fun today in art using ink to create tie dye on a piece of fabric. We experimented with colour to see what different patterns we could make.
Monday 19th April 2021
In P.E this term we are learning the sport Cricket.
In our last two lessons we have been practising throwing and catching a ball correctly using the under arm technique. Today we worked in teams to have a try at hitting the ball using our bat.
Tuesday 13th April 2021
Today we had a great afternoon singing with Laura. We loved learning and singing along to our new song. We also spent some time finding fun ways to move with the pulse and the beat of the music.

Today we took part in Festive Forest. We had great fun helping Chris build a fire and toasting marshmallows. Yum!
