Our work on Anne Frank's Diary this week based around the book 'Anne Frank' by Josephine Poole and Angela Barrett

Week 4

Printing in the style of Dale Devereux Barker using printing blocks, string and paint to create a unique printing block design.

Week 3

History - Investigating cause, events and consequences of the Viking raid on Lindisfarne.

PSHE - Investigating different jobs and which are the most important in society.

Week 2

Computing - investigating code and then creating our own code for a traffic light simulation.

Art - Investigating print making with material used in previous year groups.

Week 1

Computing - lesson 1 on coding. Following and algorithm and then applying to our own game.

History - investigating timelines and how the Vikings link to previous work on Romans and Anglo-Saxons

LO: Can I investigate human and physical geography in South America?
In Geography today, we investigated different landmarks within South America and then used the atlas index to locate the position of the landmark within the South American country. Then we discussed and decided whether the landmark was human or physical geography.

Thursday 5th December

 

Investigting games on Purple Mash in preparation for making our own.

Week 3

 

We have had an artist come in to school to work with us to design a wildlife mural for the new building housing development in Moorsley. Our designs will cover the wall where the houses are being built behind.

In DT this week, we investigated how to make an arch bridge and a triangulation bridge. During the session we experienced certain problems and identified how to solve them next time.

Week 2

Football skills - chipping the ball and longer passing.

Science - investigating series and parallel circuits

Maths - investigating prime numbers to 20

Creating scultptures out of natural materials to develop emotion heads

Week 1

Week 2

Computing – Creating a school based avatar to compare in a database. Developing shared fields for the children to populate their data. Creating a collaborative class database. Extended with ‘And’ field questions by grouping pupils according to data fields.

In English we have been reading 'The Man Who Walked Between The Towers. The children were shocked at Phillipe Petit's tightrope walk.

Week 3

PE session - Multi skills. Focusing on balance, control and coordination.

Durham University workshop about the Anglo-Saxons. We worked as archaeologists this morning analysing different artefacts.

Artwork for the Houghton Feast. The children worked on print making and embossing.

Week 4

This week in English, we have been researching the life of Phillipe Petit so we can write a biography about his life.

In PE we have been focusing on running and passing skills in tag rugby.

Week 5

We have been looking at the life of football pioneer, Viv Anderson who was the first black player to play for England.
